X-13 - Malibu Kayaks Newest Addition to Their Fleet of the Ultimate Fishing Kayaks

The newly designed low profile gator hatch, while more streamlined than the original, still allows the “jump seat” seating to bring a Little one along for the ride with several positions for forward flush mounts, keeping that “snoopy rod” close at hand. The lid is hinged at the bow and removable.

The uniquely designed front hatch enclosure incorporates a bulkhead and drain that makes for an excellent fish hold. Plugging the drain allows dry storage and with the optional deck plate allows the angler coming and going through sizable surf somewhere to stow his fishing rods.

The large tank well has the trademark round bucket recess as well as 6 small recesses for mounting additional rod holders, enough for all your fishing rods, net and gaff. There is plenty of storage room, webbing to keep things put and an optional access hatch for wiring lights and a rudder if desired. Nicely squared sides fit in with Malibu’s idea of giving the owner flat surfaces and numerous rigging options.

The seating area is wide and comfortable, positioned slightly higher than the foot wells; the ride is a dry one. Adjustable footrests will accommodate anglers of all sizes. Below storage is close at hand with the center hatch and drop in nylon liner to keep things from rolling out of reach. Recessed side carry handles, make this 57-pound kayak easy for an individual to lift and load. Additional carry handles on bow and stern as well as webbing fore and aft, drain plug and conveniently located eyelets are all standard.

The X 13 is made to paddle. It cuts through the water effortlessly and is incredibly quiet as it glides along. It is surprisingly stable and the pronounced keel throughout make it track perfectly. The hull’s rocker make it very user friendly in the surf zone and very comfortable in lesshan ideal seas.
