Bait Tanks

Having a bait-tank on your kayak enables you to serve your target fish its naturally sought after meal - a live bait. There are several types of bait tanks available for kayaks: bucket bait tanks, molded bait tanks and internal bait tanks. Bucket bait tanks are popular, because most kayaks have a built in spot for a 5 gallon bucket, and they are relatively inexpensive. The disadvantages of the bucket bait tank are a high CG (center of gravity) and they are usually positioned behind the angler. Some kayaks are able to adapt molded bait tanks into their standard hatches. The CG of a molded tank is lower than the bucket bait tank and for the most part are more secure on the kayak. The KayaTank is the only internal collapsible bait tank and offers a quieter operation, less drag, a sleeker look, and it eliminates the set-up time before launching in the morning. As for CG, some or even most of the water in the tank is below the waterline and acts as ballast for your kayak rather than an elevated tipping weight - so it actually increases the stability.
