Combine a fishing kayak, SUP, and a power boat and what do you get? You get the SOLO Skiff. A fishing kayak that gives you the ability to go anywhere, go any distance in minutes, comfortably stand, and rig anyway you like. From it’s ability to float in 3 inches of water to its ability to punch through a wave, it is simply the most versatile fishing kayak anywhere. Take it bass fishing or fishing off the beach, the opportunities are truly endless. That’s the Solo Skiff!
Fishing is what the SOLO Skiff is all about. You will quickly learn why the SOLO is dubbed the ‘fishing kayak on steroids’ It’s a true work horse of a kayak. Whether your trolling for salmon, walleye, or fly fishing, bass fishing, or flats fishing, your covered. The SOLO Skiff is a rock solid fishing machine and does it all regardless of your fishing style or preference!
When it comes to standing and fishing, it was designed for it. Worried about stability? Standing in a Solo Skiff is simple. The kayak is designed to be propelled by an outboard. This in turn increasing the width which adds stability. There are no foot wells, odd shapes, pedal hardware or any other hardware impeding movement in the cockpit area. The cockpit is flat for easy standing. Stand up, sit, kneel down, turn around, tilt the motor, get into storage, whatever your doing there is nothing in the way. SOLO Skiff is designed so everything is central, easy to manage, in a kayak that is as stable as they come! Solo Skiffs hull design still lets you easily paddle around with an SUP paddle, kayak paddle, or even use a push pole. Without anything protruding from the bottom as seen on on pedal kayaks or SUP’s, you can float in water as shallow as 3” and easily move around.
What about rigging you say? You can load up a SOLO Skiff with as many optional accessories as you can imagine. The hull is a Rotomolded Polyethylene just like most of the better manufactured kayaks out on the market today. Utilize any product that is made for a boat or kayak to get your SOLO Skiff rigged how you want it.
Solo Skiff has a built in standard grab rail/bar at the rear for handling the kayak at the ramp/beach and for safety. The SOLO has 2 built in rod tubes. Both rod tubes are sealed to keep water from getting in the hull and allow you to store 9' fly rods in your kayak, with the tips protected. A fly fishermans dream. The SOLO has a center large seat/storage hatch that opens up to allow you to store a lot of gear. Through this hatch you can easily reach inside the hull to install hardware like no other craft. You can through bolt hardware and actually look inside the kayak easily and see what your doing. This allows an amazing ease of rigging and adding hardware you just could not easily do on a kayak. The SOLO Skiff has an optional deck port that can be installed on the front deck, this allows even more storage and customization like plumbing of the cooler for a livewell, anchor storage, extra gear storage, its just crazy what all you can do with the SOLO.
The SOLO Skiff was designed with safety in mind from the start. The SOLO Skiffs deck can’t trap water with it's sloped design as water will run towards the rear of the kayak and out the end. Water from a wave will run right out in seconds as there is nothing keeping water in/on the deck. Can the SOLO sink? No way! SOLO Skiff meets full level flotation requirements as set for larger boats by the Coast Guard. The SOLO Skiff has been tested and Coast Guard approved. With is special two layer engineered hull and extra floatation blocks, SOLO Skiffs hull is MUCH more boyant than any other fishing kayak. We at SOLO Skiff firmly believe in safety and we have done everything to make the SOLO the safest kayak, period.
